Jennifer Yvette Rivera, affectionately known as “Lady”, “MiMi”, and “Jen”, was born in Sheffield, Alabama, on December 10, 1966, to the late Annie Owens Rivera and the late JC Busbee. She departed this life peacefully in her home on April 22, 2024.
She graduated from Deshler High School, Tuscumbia, Alabama, in the Class of 1986. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Hope MB Church, located at that time in the west end of Tuscumbia, Alabama.
She was well known for her love for fashions, and enjoyed styling hair, doing makeup, dancing, and the blues. Over the years, she enjoyed various jobs that involved helping others. A couple of years ago, she started a Christmas Backpack project to give to children of low-income families. She simply enjoyed life and loved people.
Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories, two loving and devoted sons – Jermarcus Rivera and Blake Rivera; two grandsons – Emory Rivera and Miguel Rivera; two caring brothers – Marvin Rivera and Chris (Tiffany) Turner; two very supportive sisters – Zimbalist (Joe) Sledge and Tracy Owens; one aunt – Millie Owens; four nieces – Charese (Terrell) Mangrum, Kamilah Owens, Andrea Owens, Aaliyah Turner; one nephew – Dominique Croom; five great nieces and nephews; godchildren – Shereda Clark and her children (KaTori Clark, Amyiah and Zamyiah Jackson); special cousin/BFF – Victor Moore; so many other special cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
