Mrs. Deborah Horton Sanders was born on July 28, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Mr. Milton Horton and Mrs. Mae Fannie Horton. She departed this life on April 7, 2024, at her home in Leighton, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. James MB Church of Leighton, Alabama, where she was a dedicated member. She loved her Pastor and First Lady Davidson, and her church family as well. Debbie also served faithfully as an Usher for many years until her health failed.
Debbie was loved by many, especially the children in her neighborhood. She retired after working 21 years at Wayne Farms in Decatur, Alabama.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Lit Sanders III; father, Milton Horton; mother, Mae Fannie Horton; devoted grandparents, Mr. R.L. and Mae Frankie Smith; brother, Milton D. Horton; two sisters, Earnestine “Tina” Horton, and Melanie Horton; and a devoted nephew, Antoine King.

a loving devoted daughter, LaTonya Horton of Leighton, AL; a daughter/niece, Makenzie Harris Horton of Muscle Shoals, AL; a devoted special friend, William King of Leighton, AL; four sisters, Edna Horton Nixon, Annie Horton Vinson (Earl MaGhee), Carolyn (Larry) Harden, all of Leighton, AL, Linda Horton Vaughn and Mary (Earl) Bailey of Muscle Shoals, AL; and other sisters and brothers; special brother-in-law, Henry (Janelle) Sanders; two uncles, Marion (Wanda) Horton, of Cincinnati, OH, and Frank Horton of Boston, MA; aunt, Karen Horton of Cincinnati, OH; God children, Delandrion Woods of Hillsboro, AL; Monica (Johnny) Strong of Decatur, AL; a devoted friend, Teresa Fitzgerald of Hillsboro, AL; other friends, Romelia Ford and Constance King of Leighton, AL; special cousins/caretakers, Hazel Garner of Town Creek, AL; Diane Madden, Laura Abernathy, and LeWanda Qualls of Leighton, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
